Pausanias invites you to discover the epicenter of the Spanish Golden Century Literary Madrid, a neighborhood in which the most distinguished writers, intellectuals and theater people lived and walked. Here Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Góngora and Quevedo had their homes and it was the cradle of the most important City Comedy Theatres (“corrales de comedias de la villa”), later coliseos, as La Cruz, witness of the loves between the King Philip IV and the actress María Calderón, or other so-called La Pacheca after known as Príncipe (nowadays Español theatre), inescapable reference for Performing Arts in our country. In the Mentidero de Cómicos or Representantes (Talking Shop of Comedians or Representtative agents) which was sited between Prado and León Streets, it was common arguing about Literature and it was the place un where the theatrical companies, which performed at the Comedy Theatre, were hired. We will return around its streets and looking its buildings, we will go to an epoque of the flowering of the Spanish Arts and Literature as ever before.
